What am I looking for?

OK first, my apologies everyone, it seems that I omitted to mention in the starting note card what you are looking for and that is totally my fault.... there are samples on signs only at some shops however, to help those who might be starting at a location that isn't one of those here are a couple of pictures... because they appear a bit differently depending on if you have preferences enabled to show shininess and bump mapping or if you have those off I am including two images... one with and one without those preferences enabled. It may be any size some are very large others are very small most hare mid range in size! First with bump & shine enabled... second without!

Almost Time to Start!!!

Hi everyone, so it's been a couple of long months of planning, organizing, lots of paperwork, and a whole lot of time spent tping around the grid to check out shops, sort out the hunt order, and make sure everything goes as smoothly as it possibly can. Now the time is almost hear to see the results of the hard work and effort. I am privilidged enough as hunt organizer to have seen images or items from a large number of our hunt locations and I am so happy with the variety, quality, and creativity displayed by everyone!

First, to each and everyone of my vendors, I wish to once more thank you for putting your faith in me and joining this hunt. I don't call it my hunt, never have, nor will I ever do so because while I decided to run it, put in a lot of work organizing it, and have the responsibility of keeping it going and fixing issues it is NOT my hunt it is OUR hunt! Without each and every one of you this hunt could not happen. Each of you have put in much work too getting ready for this hunt and that should be recognized as well. I've learned a few lessons, made a few mistakes, and had a few oh no lets fix this now moments but I honestly feel very good about how things have gone and hopefully will continue to go.

Now, to our hunters, welcome to the Silver & Gold Hunt (yes, the name has shortened a bit along the way). I hope each of you has a great time and enjoys both the hunt and the gifts. As all hunts I am sure we will have a few hitches... SL is a very fluid place and shops move, sometimes by choice, others without warning in nessecity. I will continue to do my best to keep issues to a minimum. I hope you will bear with us if/when this happens. I will take care of them as fast as possible, unfortunately with a world full of timezones sometimes it takes a little time to get new landmarks placed

I invite all the vendors and the hunters to post to the flickr group, vendors post pictures of gifts and by all means hunters post pics of having fun on the hunt or opening the gifts, or even your favorite gifts... the group is for everyone! We have a group for hunters to get help/help each other find the bells... but please note I will be monitoring it along with others and direct slurls or being rude to others in group will not be tolerated. Have fun, enjoy the chat, make friends, and get some great gifts! I won't be cracking any whips if the conversation gets slightly off topic but I will maintain order and our simple rules. Please try to rmeember it's ok to chat, but keep in mind those who are asking for help.

Setup Deadline Passed... Shops being replaced

We will be doing a bit of reworking on the hunt order over the next 22 hours as we have a few shops that will need to be replaced. I set in place some very simple rules for this hunt, a timeline to help keep everyone on track, and deadlines that were put in place to ensure things would go as smoothly as possible. One of those rules was that every shop had to have one person in the hunt vendor group for the duration of the hunt. This is not because I want to take up one of your precious group slots (goodness knows I have to juggle groups enough on my own to understand it's difficult to do this) but because with 160 vendors, it's not feasible for me to try to personally keep every vendor up to date with all that doing a hunt entails (sign changes, lm changes, walk through results, and so forth). I am rather disappointed to find tonight when going to check last log ins for those who had not responded (fully expecting that they had not been online, or they had and maybe notices were not being delivered).

To those vendors who left the hunt group, I am not sure why you would do that and plan to take part in the hunt, however, I was clear on this rule. I wish you each all the best, and I have no hard feelings or ill will toward you, however, I must remove you to ensure the integrity of the hunt. I plan to do everything possible to make this hunt run smoothly for all of the hunters as well as for all the vendors who have worked hard on gifts and set up as instructions required!

Happy Building,
Rox
